PLACES TO VISIT

Quaint villages. bustling market towns and unique landscapes

North Norfolk is renowned for its spectacular coastline, fantastic wildlife, miles of glorious beaches, seaside communities and a beautiful hinterland of rolling countryside and picturesque market towns.

There is so much to see and so many things do! These are some of our favourite places to visit in North Norfolk:

Mundesley

Right outside our door, the award winning Mundesly beach stretches for miles. During the summer season, there is a safe area of the beach continually watched over by lifeguards from the RNLI. The Coastwatch station is manned all year round by local volunteers during daylight hours. Mundesley sits in a dip in the cliffs and from the clifftops there are spectacular views across the whole of the village and right across to Happisburgh lighthouse in the other direction. From the clifftop, you can walk across to Stow Mill passing the Mundesley Holiday Village.

Mundesley village is well served by local shops in and around its small High Street. It has not lost its old-world charm with thatched roofs, stone walls and many quaint and charming cottages.

Stow Mill

Stow Mill is literally just a few yards outside of Mundesley, close-by Richardson's Holiday Centre. Built as a flour mill around 1826, it has been beautifully restored by its present owner and is well worth a visit.

North Walsham

North Walsham is the nearest market town to Mundesley and less than 15 minutes' drive away. Featuring its Market Cross built in 1549 and the beautiful St. Nicholas Church. North Walsham also provides the facilities of a Sainsbury store, Boots Chemist and several banks along with a host of other shops.

Wells-next-to-the-Sea (pictured)

Wells-next-the-Sea is nestled between Holkham beach and the unique bird sanctuary of Blakeney Point. Wells has a quay with wonderful views, a charming town with leafy Georgian Square and on Staithe Street you'll find a mix of traditional and contemporary shops as well as eateries. Set in north Norfolk’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Wells is part of the largest coastal nature reserve in England and Wales and is a magnet for bird watchers. Its marshes provide the perfect habitat for wading birds, bitterns, avocets, marsh harriers and winter geese. Famous for its cute beach huts, these are available for hire daily.
